What Makes The Cobalt Surf System

Volvo Penta Fwd
Forward-facing propulsion designed for performance and safety. The system pulls the boat through the water for smoother acceleration, better efficiency, and a quieter ride.

Surf Controls
Simple control at your fingertips. Pre-set profiles automatically adjust ballast, speed, and wave direction so you can focus on the ride.

Surf Gate®
High-speed actuators create a long, clean wave on either side of the boat. Quick adjustments let riders fine-tune the wave without interrupting the ride.

Hard Ballast
Fine-tune your wave for different riders and conditions. Adjust ballast levels based on passenger load to dial in the right shape and size. Ballast tanks do not apply to the R33 Surf and R35 Surf.

R4 Surf Exterior
The Cobalt R4 Surf features a low-profile hull design that brings you closer to the water while improving handling and storage. Built with Cobalt’s Custom Wave Technology, it combines a redesigned surf hull, Volvo Penta Forward Drive, and Surf Gate system to deliver consistent wave performance and smooth operation across a wide range of conditions.

Exterior Features

Electric Swim Step

• The electrically powered swim step lowers and raises at the push of a button, improving water access and usability at the stern. Designed for smooth, quiet operation, the system integrates cleanly into the swim platform without adding complexity to the user experience.

Surf Graphics

• Surf models feature exclusive hull-side graphics with expanded color options for upper and lower hull sections. These design elements allow for more customization while maintaining a clean, cohesive exterior look.

Engine Access

• A wide-opening engine hatch provides direct access for maintenance, inspection, and onboard storage. The easy-lift design and sealed hatch help reduce cockpit noise while improving usability and service access.

Rotating Sunshade

• The rotating sunshade remains in place as the arch is lowered, eliminating the need for removal or adjustment. A rigid frame keeps the canvas secure, while gas assist or electric actuation options allow for easy operation and positioning.

Fender Clip Package

• A stainless-steel quick-mount fender system that keeps dock lines positioned and secure. Allows fast setup and removal for easier docking and protection.

R4 Surf Interior
The Cobalt R4 Surf interior combines modern helm technology with a functional, open layout. Dual Garmin touchscreen displays provide clear access to navigation and system controls, while premium materials and thoughtful storage solutions support comfort, durability, and ease of use throughout the cockpit.

The result is a smoother, quieter ride with optimized fuel economy and dependable performance on the water.

Full Color Deck

• The Full Color Deck option allows for extended gelcoat color from deck to upper hull, creating a more cohesive exterior design. Available across select Cobalt Surf models, this feature offers expanded customization with multiple color options for a refined, uniform appearance.

Fresco Chil Vinyl

• A premium marine vinyl designed to stay cooler in direct sunlight, improving comfort on hot days. Features moisture-resistant, antimicrobial construction for long-lasting durability.

Soft-Trac Positive Traction Mat

• A soft, non-slip traction mat designed for secure footing and comfort throughout the cockpit and swim platform. Maintains grip when wet while remaining comfortable underfoot.
